Student Success Programs and Services
A joint, comprehensive orientation program for MHK Pathway students and their families is held before classes begin. At orientation, students learn more about the programs and services offered. Invitations are extended to students who have completed the MHK Pathway Commitment Form.
MHK Pathway students have access to professional academic advising at both institutions and are part of K-State’s Academic Coaching program. Manhattan Tech and K-State academic advisors are knowledgeable about K-State and MHK Pathway academic requirements. Students should meet with their K-State advisor during the first year at Manhattan Tech when planning their courses for the upcoming semester.
MHK Pathway students will be assigned an Academic Coach who will support students in developing the skills and strategies necessary to achieve their academic and personal goals. The Academic Achievement Center at K-State offers free academic support tools and services such as tutoring that is personalized to the needs of each student. There are also major and career exploration services available to students to assist them to choose their pathway from Manhattan Tech to K-State.
During their first year, MHK Pathway students are enrolled at both K-State and Manhattan Tech, granting them access to all academic success services and most student life opportunities, including joining student organizations and scheduled student activities.
Health care services are available to MHK Pathway students. Services covered through the student activity fee include medical services, counseling and psychological services, and health education.
In addition to academic advising support, MHK Pathway students can utilize the services of the Career Center at K-State. The Career Center offers programs and services for students to explore and identify major and career choices so they can achieve their educational and career goals.
Through K-State’s Recreational Services, MHK Pathway students have access to the Chester E. Peters Recreation Complex on the K-State's Manhattan campus. It offers 10,000 square feet of weight and fitness area, as well as indoor tracks, rock climbing, basketball courts and several outdoor athletic facilities.
Public transit service is provided by ATA Bus system from K-State to Manhattan Tech while classes are in session. The first parking pass is free at Manhattan Tech. Students may purchase a student parking permit at K-State.
Disability support services will be provided as needed by Manhattan Tech and K-State.
