Performance Management Planning Initiative
Supporting the K-State Workforce
The Next-Gen K-State vision — with its included foundational theme of building and sustaining our workforce — has implored us re-envision how we manage and reward our workforce.
- A Performance Management initiative was launched in November of 2023. Learn more about the initiative's planning process and teams.
- The planning initiative ultimately led to the creation, implementation and operationalization of a unified staff performance evaluation form for all unclassified professional staff and USS employees, made available January 1, 2025. Updated performance management training toolkits for supervisors and managers also launched in January 2025. Human Resources manages the ongoing Performance Management process.
- In April 2025, a working group was formed to create alignment around policy in support of the updated performance management process. It's work is set to begin in Fall 2025.
- The initiative also includes implementing a new electronic learning and performance management system to streamline the performance review process, facilitate employee development and track progress on annual goals.
This comprehensive refresh of our performance management process is poised to modernize the K-State talent management functions to recruit, retain and advance university staff in a streamlined way.
Please understand that this effort does not include tenured or non-tenure track teaching and/or research faculty, graduate students or student employees. It is designed for unclassified and USS staff only.
