Explore the World of Wine

Sample wines from around the world among friends, with the guidance of a sommelier. It is necessary to sign up each year; openings are limited.

Meets: 4th Sunday, 7:00 p.m., 6 meetings/year in members’homes, beginning September 30.
Fee: $10–15/person/session. Cost is divided amongmembers, so regular attendance is important.

Roll Out the Barrel: Microbrews and Other Beers

Local brews? Yes! Explore the world of microbrews and other beers in this interest group. Meeting dates/sites to be determined.

Family Day Out

Explore Manhattan family style! Join us for short, family/kid-friendly excursions in and around Manhattan (early evening or Saturday).

Gourmet/International

Food! Fun! Fellowship! Singles and couples, novices and experts, all are welcome. Hosting, menu planning, cooking, and expenses are shared.

Meets: Monthly at members’ homes, on the 1st / 2nd Saturday at 6:30 p.m., October through April. Cooking assignments given about a week in advance.
Fee: Expenses will be shared.

Needlecraft with Conversation

We enjoy learning about each other’s needlework.

Creative Journaling

Begin that journal you’ve been thinking about – your life story, family history or memoir. Members are encouraged to bring work to share. Visitors are welcome.

Body Recall

Gentle exercises that work all parts of the body.

Bridge – Afternoon

For couples and singles with partners.

Creative Cookery

After the first meeting, bring a dish and share the recipe with friends, new and old.

Book Review

Join us for a good time as we share thoughts from interlibrary loan selections. Group will read one book and discuss it at the next meeting.

Scrapbooking

Set aside time to organize or preserve your photos and stories. Beginners and seasoned scrappers are welcome. Instruction for digital and traditional approaches is available. Supplies are available if needed.

Historic Costumes & Textiles

We will explore hidden treasures in the Historic Costume and Textile Museum holdings, and learn how clothing is a collectible form of art.

Please Note: Interest groups are open to all members of the Kansas State University Social Club. Interest group participants are required to be club members. If applicable, Interest Group fees are payable to the group chairperson at the first meeting. Please contact the interest group chairperson for additional information and to arrange participation.

You may join an Interest Group when submitting your membership registration form in September.  If joining Social Club mid-year, you may also sign up for an Interest Group by contacting a chairperson or Social Club President. 

Please remember, you must be a member of Social Club to join an Interest Group.
