Online TEVAL

Overview

The TEVAL Student Rating System and Reports are facilitated by the Center for Advancement of Teaching and Learning Kansas State University. The TEVAL System is available in paper and electronic format.

The TEVAL System is unique to K-State and is intended to provide an indicator of students' impressions of instructor effectiveness in teaching a given class. It may also provide some clues as to your students views of specific teaching practices. TEVAL Reports are confidential. To facilitate a more accurate interpretation of the results, the TEVAL Report also summarizes some information that you may have provided about your students and your teaching context when you complete the TEVAL Faculty Information Form.

When using the electronic version, the individual faculty member is solely responsible for creating the Online TEVAL. This system is fully integrated with K-State Online, and only those listed as a primary instructor can survey their course. The system will generate an e-mail to each student in the course with a link to the actual evaluation.

An online tutorial is available to the public and will introduce you to the Online TEVAL. Using the tutorial may help you decide whether to use the electronic version or the paper version.

Electronic Grade Submission system resources

Overview

Requested by faculty, the Electronic Grade Submission system easily imports grades from K-State Online that can then be submitted directly to the Registrar's Office at Kansas State University. Instructors also can manually enter grades.

The Electronic Grade Submission was designed to mimic and streamline the existing paper grade submission process. Electronic Grade Submission was pilot tested with a group of selected faculty in Fall 2005 and made available as an option to all university faculty in Spring 2006.

Electronic Grade Submission is a joint project of the Registrar's Office, Information System's Office (ISO), Computing and Telecommunication Services (CTS), Information Technology Assistance Center (iTAC), and the Office of Mediated Education.

Training

To access the Electronic Grade Submission system, faculty are required to complete training. The training is offered each semester by iTAC about a month before the Electronic Grade Submission system becomes available. Faculty are only required to complete training once, and not every semester.
