APDesign graduates recognized for achievements in APDPro

Submitted by Thom Jackson

Four graduates in the College of Architecture, Planning & Design, or APDesign, at Kansas State University received APDPro Certification by completing all five years of requirements for APDPro, the college's professional development program.

The following students achieved certification in APDPro during the 2023-2024 academic year:

Emily Hemsath, fifth-year student in landscape architecture; Shelby Thornton, fifth-year student in architecture, Sublette; Libby Couture, fifth-year student in architecture, Fort Collins, Colorado; and Rowan Taylor, fifth-year student in interior architecture, Trimble, Missouri.

More than 500 APDesign students participated in APDPro during the 2023-2024 academic year.

The mission of APDPro is to enrich students' experience in APDesign and provide a competitive advantage as they transition to the workplace. The programs offered through APDPro help students develop the career skills employers are looking for via workshops; lectures; seminars; professional mentoring; diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging efforts; and networking opportunities. Students receive a notation on their transcript for each year they complete the program requirements and become certified in APDPro if they complete the requirements all five years of the program.
