Finalists announced for dean of College of Arts and Sciences

The search committee for the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences announces four finalists who will interview for the position and invites you to attend the open forums presented by each candidate.  

  • Andrew Hippisley, professor and dean of the Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Wichita State University, will interview April 12-14. The open forum will be from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 13, in Regnier Forum, 1117 Regnier Hall. A reception will follow from 4:30-5:15 p.m. in the atrium of Regnier Hall.
  • Thomas Mote, distinguished research professor and associate dean of the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Georgia, will interview April 16-18. The open forum will be from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Monday, April 17, in Regnier Forum, 1117 Regnier Hall. A reception will follow from 4:30-5:15 p.m. in the atrium of Regnier Hall.
  • Chris Culbertson, professor and interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Kansas State University, will interview April 17-19. The open forum will be from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, in Regnier Forum, 1117 Regnier Hall. A reception will follow from 4:30-5:15 p.m. in the atrium of Regnier Hall.
  • Kristin Sosnowsky, professor and interim dean of the College of Music and Dramatic Arts at Louisiana State University, will interview April 19-21. The open forum will be from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20, in Regnier Forum, 1117 Regnier Hall. A reception will follow from 4:30-5:15 p.m. in the atrium of Regnier Hall.  

K-Staters are encouraged to review the application materials and attend each open forum and Q&A session titled "Leading the College of Arts and Sciences in a Time of Change: Opportunities and Challenges."

An itinerary and application materials for each candidate are available on the provost's search website. Please be prepared to enter your K-State eID and password to access the information. For those unable to attend in person, the open forums will be streamed live and archived on the provost’s search website.

There will also be online candidate feedback surveys on the search website. Each feedback survey will close at 5 p.m. two days following each candidate's open forum, and the presentation will be removed from the website at that time.

Oral or written feedback on the candidates may also be directed to members of the search committee. Please provide feedback no later than Monday, April 24.
