K-State to host ASCE Mid-America Student Symposium April 13-15

Submitted by Grant Guggisberg

Kansas State University is set to host the 2023 American Society of Civil Engineers, or ASCE, Mid-America Student Symposium from April 13-15.

The civil engineering department in the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering will host the three-day regional event, which features a variety of club competitions and presentations for the 16 area ASCE student chapters in attendance. Additionally, ASCE president-elect Marsia Geldert-Murphey will be in attendance, along with many civil engineering practitioners and alumni who will serve as judges and volunteers.

Many of the competitions are open to the university community and general public, including the concrete canoe competitions at Tuttle Creek State Park on April 14 and the steel bridge competition at the K-State Parking Garage on April 15. View the schedule for the entire weekend of events
