Parker named 2021 K-State Global Campus Outstanding Advisor
Jill Parker, academic advisor for the personal financial planning department in the College of Health and Human Services, has been selected as the 2021 K-State Global Campus Outstanding Advisor.
The award is given to a faculty or staff member who has demonstrated exceptional efforts in assisting and advising online education students.
"Academic advisors are often an online student's strongest connection to the institution," said Karen Pedersen, dean of Global Campus. "Jill's attention to detail and care in providing guidance for these students is essential to success for the student and for the online program. Global Campus is proud to honor her work through this award."
In the materials submitted for Parker's nomination, it was noted, "If it was not for Ms. Jill Parker, I would not have returned to K-State. When I had to pause my education for unforeseen circumstances and I had to leave school a few years ago, she gave me nothing but support and understanding, without any hint of judgment. She kept in touch and continued to offer me support and encouragement during my absence from K-State. That's how I knew I was returning to the right school and to the right people who truly care about students."
