Student volunteers needed for focus group discussion about equity and diversity

Submitted by Joyce Wu

Joyce Wu, Fulbright visiting scholar hosted by the gender, women and sexuality studies department, is calling for student volunteers to participate in a focus group discussion as part of a Fulbright research project with K-State.

Before becoming an academic, Wu worked in women's and foreign aid organizations globally. Wu's doctorate was on how men stop violence against women in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Timor Leste. The Fulbright project will look at K-State's equity, diversity and inclusion policies and initiatives for staff and students.

Wu is interested in learning about women and women-identified students' experiences of studying at K-State. The discussions are voluntary, last between 60 to 90 minutes — light refreshments will be provided — and with the option of further individual interviews.

Register to participate in the focus group online

Contact Wu at joycewu433@k-state.edu or joyce.wu@anu.edu.au with any questions.

Research ethics approval was obtained with the Australian National University.
