Submitted by Zach St. Clair

KSDB is celebrating 10 awards from the 2019 KABs

The Kansas Association of Broadcasters presented students at 91.9 KSDB Manhattan with 10 awards in nine categories. In addition, several Kansas State University students were recognized for their efforts in student broadcasting.

"It's an honor to be recognized," said Zach St. Clair, junior in English. "KSDB has been and continues to put in a lot of great work, and it really shows. The station has some exciting things coming up very soon."

St. Clair, who is program director for KSDB, was recognized with two first-place awards for Public Affairs Program and 60 Second Commercial/PSA, as well as two shared awards with LeAndre Carthen, station manager, and Emily Willi, co-promotions director

Carthen received an additional award for his research paper, "Offensive Content in Media and Community Standards of Morality."

James Copeland, operations manager for the station, took home three awards in the graduate student competition. The awards were in Complete Newscast 4 Days/Week or More, Complete Sports Feature, and 60 Second Commercial/PSA.

The awards were judged by the Kansas Association of Broadcasters, a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to support the educational activities and to promote free over-the-air broadcasting for the purpose of enhancing the success of Kansas broadcasters and helping them better serve the people of Kansas.
