Wind Ensemble honored with performance opportunity at American Bandmasters Association conference

Submitted by Blakely Bunning

The Kansas State University Wind Ensemble has accepted an invitation to perform at the American Bandmasters Association conference. To perform at such an event is the highest honor a band program can receive; the K-State group received the invitation in 2017.

The conference will take place March 5-9, 2019, at Colorado State University. The band's performance will feature two guest soloists: international horn virtuoso Chris Castellanos and K-State faculty member Anna Marie Wytko on alto saxophone. The concert also will feature several guest conductors as part of their initiation to the association.

The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance is part of the College of Arts and Sciences. The school annually gives more than $500,000 in undergraduate scholarships and graduate scholarships and assistantships. To learn more about the School of Music Theatre, and Dance at K-State, visit its website.
