League of United Latin American Citizens to host first meeting

Submitted by Marlene Campos

The League of United Latin American Citizens, or LULAC, a registered student organization, will have its first general meeting of the school year from 7-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, in Room 2101 of the College of Business Building.

LULAC is the oldest Latinx/Hispanic Civil Rights organization established in the United States in 1929. Our council at K-State focuses on creating a stronger and more inclusive environment on campus that will promote awareness of the Latinx/Hispanic community. We strive for students to have the opportunity to make a difference and leave a lasting impact through advocating efforts aimed at advancing the rights and issues that affect the Latinx community.

Come to our meeting to learn more about what LULAC is and what we do on campus.
