K-State Libraries work to provide free textbook access
This year, thanks to student-centered tuition enhancement funding from the Student Governing Association, K-State Libraries have put the main textbook for targeted courses on reserve at Hale Library.
Finding Reserves items is easy. Call Library Help at 785-532-3014, stop by a help desk or look in Search It on the Libraries' website to see if the item you need is on Reserves.
If you don't find your textbook, consider asking your instructor if they would be willing to place a copy on Reserves.
If you've never used Reserves, here are the basics:
- Some instructors put textbooks and other classroom materials on Reserves at Library Help so all students can have access to them through short-term check-out periods, usually two hours.
- Call Library Help at 785-532-3014, stop by a help desk or check Search It to see if the item you need is on Reserves.
- Then bring your K-State ID and course code information to a library help desk to check out Reserves material. For example, if you're taking Expository Writing II, you'll want to let the library employee know you need the material for ENGL 200. It's also important to know your instructor's last name.
