Duane Dunn has been named associate dean and director for academic and professional programs at Kansas State University Global Campus.

"Dr. Dunn brings an understanding of workforce needs and a thorough knowledge of the Kansas higher education system," said Sue Maes, dean of K-State Global Campus. "I look forward to working with him to expand the strategic vision of K-State Global Campus."

The associate dean will provide leadership to the academic and professional programs and student and faculty services units within K-State Global Campus. He will work with academic colleges to develop online academic programs to students at a distance and will work with campus offices to ensure the availability of high quality, comprehensive student and faculty services in support of K-State Global Campus programs.

"Providing leadership to K-State Global Campus to further growth and serving its students is an exciting opportunity," Dunn said. "My philosophy as an educator and administrator is to continually develop, expand and assess quality opportunities leading to success for students, faculty and other constituents."

Dunn earned his doctorate in educational administration and his Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in agriculture education all from Kansas State University. He earned an Associate of Arts in business education from Colby Community College.

Dunn is currently the president of Seward County Community College in Liberal. Under his leadership, the college has been recognized twice by the Aspen Institute as among the top community colleges in the nation, recognized as a top 50 community college in the U.S. by Washington Monthly magazine, recognized by Noel Levitz organization for achievements in student retention and has achieved top 15 percent status of colleges in the National Community College Benchmark initiative in student persistence, graduation, employer satisfaction, math sequence success and developmental writing sequence success.

Dunn will join the K-State Global Campus staff in June.
