Graduate Student Appreciation Week starts today

This April, the Graduate School is celebrating the accomplishments and contributions of graduate students. The first week of April is nationally recognized as Graduate Student Appreciation Week. This is an opportunity to show appreciation to graduate students for their hard work and dedication to research, scholarly and creative work, teaching, leadership and service.

The Graduate School, colleges and graduate programs will extend this celebration throughout the month of April. The following is a list of scheduled events that to celebrate K-State’s graduate students:

Tuesday, April 2, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. — The College of Arts and Sciences will host a pizza party at Union Station by JP’s in the K-State Student Union. One Arts and Sciences graduate student who attends will win a $500 prize for academic or conference costs.

Tuesday, April 2, 4:30–6:30 p.m. — K-State Olathe will hold an appreciation dinner reception for all students in the Bistro at the K-State Olathe campus.

Wednesday, April 3, 5 p.m. — The Graduate Student Council will host bingo with pizza for graduate students. Register to attend.

Tuesday, April 9, noon-1 p.m. — The Graduate School will host a Grad Coffee Chat with the Dean in 118 Eisenhower Hall. Coffee and treats will be provided. Register to attend.

Tuesday, April 16, 9-10 a.m. — APDesign Graduate Student Appreciation Donuts with the Dean at the Regnier Hall atrium.

Wednesday, April 17, 9:30-11:00 a.m. — College of Business Administration will host an appreciation breakfast for CBA graduate students in 2001 Business Building.

Sunday, April 28, 5–7 p.m. — President Linton’s office, in collaboration with the Graduate School and Graduate Student Council, will host the Graduate Student and Faculty Recognition Celebration in the College of Business Administration Atrium. All graduate students and graduate faculty are welcome to attend. The event will include recognition of graduate students who received awards and honors throughout the 2023-2024 academic year. Please RSVP for the event by April 18.

Throughout the first week of April, the Graduate School will also be celebrating graduate students on social media.
