Manhattan Avenue construction update

Submitted by Brett Robinson

The city of Manhattan and Ebert Construction will close Old Claflin Road on the west side of Manhattan Avenue on Thursday, Feb. 22.

Work will include new cross walks and pedestrian signals. Work will be completed in two or three weeks. See area map for vehicle and pedestrian detours.

To enter A11 and A12 parking lots, use Mid-Campus Drive to Old Claflin Road. The one-way section of Old Claflin Road near the Leadership Studies Building will become a two-way street. Please yield to exiting traffic.

To exit A11 and A12 parking lots, head West on Old Claflin Road toward Mid-Campus Drive. Yield to oncoming traffic. Then proceed to Claflin Road. Please avoid using A10 as an entrance or exit onto Manhattan Avenue. Construction on Old Claflin Road may cause blind spots and turning north will be difficult during high traffic.

Pedestrians: Sidewalks will be closed on Old Claflin Road until the project is complete. Please use the detour routes to Petticoat Lane and Claflin Road to safely cross Manhattan Avenue.
