Rob Regier Memorial Golf Tournament supports Johnson Cancer Research Center
The 25th annual Rob Regier Memorial Golf Tournament supporting the Johnson Cancer Research Center will be Friday, Oct. 20, at Colbert Hills Golf Course.
Registration opens at 11 a.m., and the tee-off will be at 1 p.m. The golf tournament is hosted by the Regier family and offers a steak dinner, silent auction, souvenir items and prizes. The tournament helps support basic cancer research by providing faculty awards for preliminary and interdisciplinary cancer research and undergraduate and graduate student awards to perform cancer research.
The tournament honors Rob Regier, a 1988 K-State pre-dentistry graduate who died of cancer in 1992 at age 26. The tournament was started in 1998 by some of Regier's Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity brothers in Kansas City. Regier's parents, Les and Sandy Regier, continued it with help from their son and Regier's twin brother, Randy, and his family: wife, Juli, and daughter, Ryann.
Advance registration is preferred. Register for the golf tournament by calling the Johnson Cancer Research Center at 785-532-6705 or download and mail the brochure.
