Student Success staffing updates

Submitted by Office of Student Success

Meeting the needs of our students and collaborators remains a priority in the Office of Student Success. To achieve our goals, some staff roles have changed or expanded in response to staff vacancies.

Luke Matulewicz is acting assistant director of the Academic Achievement Center. Matulewicz has been serving as the managing director of Tutoring Services for the Academic Achievement Center since 2019. He earned his master's in higher education administration from the University of Dayton. Matulewicz has been active in the National College Learning Center Association and recently received Level 2 Learning Center Leadership Certification. Matulewicz will provide leadership to the different programs under the Academic Achievement Center including tutoring, academic coaching, scholar services, exceptionally admitted students and SPARK. Matulewicz is located in Room 101 of Holton Hall. He can be reached at lmatulewic@k-state.edu or achievement@k-state.edu.

Rebeca Paz is providing leadership to the Developing Scholars Program, working with graduate assistant Maria Portillo, practicum student Cesar Rivera and student scholars. Paz is the assistant director for First-generation Students. During more than 20 years of service to K-State, she has built partnerships and programs to serve students who have been historically underrepresented in higher education. Questions about the Developing Scholars Program may be directed to ourci@k-state.edu or to Paz at rpaz@k-state.edu. Please send faculty mentor questions to Jeannie Brown Leonard, vice provost for student success at brownleonard@k-state.edu.

Jeannie Brown Leonard, graduate assistant Shiseido Robinson and members of the local Executive Committee for the Kansas Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation, or KS-LSAMP, are providing leadership to our students and the broader Alliance. Questions about KS-LSAMP may be directed to lsamp@k-state.edu.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. If you have any questions about any other student success programs, services or initiatives , please contact studentsuccess@k-state.edu.
