Karin Rabe and Greg Moore will present an Art and Math Seminar from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, via Zoom.

Rabe and Moore are theoretical physicists who, after many years at Yale University, are currently on the faculty of Rutgers. In this talk, they will explain what modern square dancing is and explore some of the fascinating underlying mathematical structures in this wonderful dance form.

In addition to their passion for science and mathematics, they share a passion for modern western square dancing, both as dancers and callers. Working as a husband-wife team, they call dances in person for the New Jersey square dance clubs and on Zoom for dancers from across the world.

Meetings of the online Art and Math Seminar are dedicated to collaborations between artists and scientists.

Registration is required to participate in the seminar.
