Interdisciplinary team gives talk at Texas Homeless Network

An interdisciplinary team from the College of Architecture, Planning & Design and the Institute for Civil Discourse and Democracy/Arts and Sciences was invited to give a national talk at the Texas Homeless Network in May 2022. 

Katie Kingery-Page, associate dean and professor of landscape architecture; Susmita Rishi, assistant professor of regional and community planning; and Donna Schenck-Hamlin, community partnerships associate and communication coordinator for the workforce solar housing partnership, gave a live webinar, "Creativity, Complexity, and Common Understanding: How Do We Address Affordable Housing?" The Texas Homeless Network is a nonprofit membership-based organization helping communities strategically plan to prevent and end homelessness. Annually, the organization trains more than 1,700 service providers through continuing education; Texas Homeless Network also advocates at federal and state levels for policy change to prevent and end homelessness.
