Concert of Jewish and Jewish-inspired music from Polish-Ukrainian borderlands

Guest artists from the Institute of Music at the University of Rzeszów, Poland, will present a free program of Jewish and Jewish-inspired music from Polish-Ukrainian borderlands. The event will take place at 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, in Kirmser Hall, 204 McCain Auditorium. 

The program includes a mini-lecture by Professor Ewa Nidecka about Jewish musicians from Poland and Ukraine, solo piano music by Juliusz Wolfsohn, 1880-1944, and songs by Ewa Nidecka and Krzysztof Kostrzewa with poetry by Paul Celan and Julian Tuwim, performed by tenor Maciej Gallas and pianist Magdalena Prejsnar.

The program is hosted by the music program in the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance.
