Porath and Meritt present at SITE conference

Submitted by Sarah Harper

Faculty from the College of Education’s Department of Curriculum and Instruction attended and presented at the hybrid conference for the Society of Information Technology in Teacher Education April 11-15.

Suzanne Porath, associate professor, and Dustin Meritt, professor of practice, presented “Hybrid and Digital Technology to Support Military-Connected Students in Teacher Education.” Porath also presented “Telepresence Robots Open the World for Field Experience Placements.” This professional organization supports the integration of instructional technologies into teacher education programs.

“This year, Dustin and I were able to highlight some of the great things that the College of Education is doing to support military-connected students and families,” Porath said. “SITE advertises itself as the 'friendly conference,' and it truly is one of the friendliest and most inspiring conferences I've attended. It is a model of a professional learning community that openly and willingly shares its experiences, knowledge and resources. Each time I attend SITE, I leave with a new idea or strategy that I'm eager to explore.”

SITE 2022 was the 33rd annual conference of the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education. This society represents individual teacher educators and affiliated organizations of teacher educators in all disciplines, who are interested in the creation and dissemination of knowledge about the use of information technology in teacher education and faculty/staff development.
