Learn about the Fulbright U.S. Student Grant

Submitted by Drew Bellamy

The Institute of International Education will host a virtual information session regarding the Fulbright U.S. Student Grant at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 21.

The institute will present information to students at multiple universities regarding the program eligibility, award types and award benefits. They will also review application components and share application tips. After the general presentation, students will have an opportunity to learn more about campus resources, deadlines and next steps in a short breakout session with Jim Hohenbary, the Fulbright program adviser for Kansas State University.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Grant fully funds an academic year of international experience for U.S. citizens and is open to graduating seniors, recent alumni and graduate students. With more than 1,900 awards available, the Fulbright is a terrific opportunity to study, conduct research or work as an English teaching assistant in one of more than 140 different countries.

Students will need to register for the group information session.

The K-State campus deadline for the Fulbright U.S. Student Grant is Aug. 15. The April 21 session is a great opportunity to begin planning in advance of that campus deadline.

Interested students who are unable to attend the session are encouraged to contact Jim Hohenbary, director of nationally competitive scholarships, at jimlth@k-state.edu.
