CARE invites applications for interim assistant director

Submitted by Office of Student Life and CARE

The Division of Student Life is seeking applications for an interim assistant director for the Center of Advocacy, Response and Education. This will be an internal search open to current and qualified employees of Kansas State University. The anticipated start date will be in late January. The position will report to Justin Frederick, assistant dean in the Office of Student Life.

The position became vacant when the former assistant director, Clara Valadares Kientz, accepted a position with the National Organization for Victims Assistance as campus program manager at the end of the fall 2021 semester.

The interim assistant director for the Center of Advocacy, Response and Education provides leadership and supervision of the staff and daily operations. This also includes survivor advocacy, grant management, prevention, outreach/awareness and education. Prevention and response subject areas addressed by this office and position include sexual violence, dating violence, domestic violence, sexual harassment and stalking.

Qualified candidates must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and three years of relevant experience. A master's degree in a related field and knowledge of federal regulations related to campuses — VAWA, Title IX, Clery Act — is preferred. The position is only open to current K-State employees.
