High wind warning today
The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning in effect from this morning through the evening today, Wednesday, Dec. 15. Potential wind gusts of up to 70 MPH are expected. If you're traveling, be aware of flying debris such as trash cans and holiday decorations, as well as difficulty when driving with such high wind speeds. The primary concerns include damaging winds and potential for severe storms.
A Red Flag Warning has also been released by the National Weather Service from noon to 9 p.m. today. This means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. With the combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures, this can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
