Geography and geospatial sciences department congratulates scholarship recipients for 2021-2022

The geography and geospatial sciences department presented its departmental awards and scholarships at its annual honors and awards reception on May 7. The department awarded $37,500 in scholarship funds to undergraduate and graduate students for the 2021-2022 academic year. 

The following students received awards: 

Clay Robertson, doctoral student, and Olivia Groeber, master's student, Steven Kale Graduate Research Fellowships.

Trevor Thomas, junior, and Kevin Johnson, junior, William Grimm Undergraduate Scholarships.

Kristina Head, sophomore, and Dalton Silhan, senior, Huber Self Scholarships in Geography. 

Kevin Johnson, junior, H.L. Seyler Undergraduate GIScience Scholarship.

Noel Guzman, senior, LeBlanc Outstanding Undergraduate Major Award.

Alexander Heeren, senior, NCGE/AAG Excellence in Scholarship Award.

Hilda Onuoha, doctoral student, and Meng Ding, doctoral student, Stephen and Susan White GTA Excellence Awards. 

Kristina Head, sophomore, Chester Hubbard, senior, and Trevor Thomas, junior, Robert H. Williams Undergraduate Geography Scholarships.

Amariah Fischer, doctoral student, Department Leadership Award.

Abu Maroof, doctoral student, Dobbs Outstanding Citizen Award.

Nicholas McCarroll, doctoral student, Hilda Onuoha, doctoral student, and Dalton Silhan, senior, Milton and Emma Jean Rafferty GTU Geography Scholarships. 

Nicholas McCarroll, doctoral student, Marston Muddy Boots Award.

Chester Hubbard, senior, Linda Patterson Geography Scholarship.

Chester Hubbard, senior, and Keith Birnbaum, junior, Steven Kale Undergraduate Research Fellowships.
