National search begins for deputy general counsel

A committee has begun a national search for Kansas State University's next deputy general counsel.

The deputy general counsel supports the general counsel in providing the overall administration, direction, coordination and evaluation of the legal function and activities of Kansas State University. Under the direction of the general counsel, the deputy general counsel is responsible for the direction and management of assigned responsibilities in support of the mission, goals and objectives of K-State. The deputy general counsel provides legal advice and counsel to constituents on a wide scope of highly complex legal transactions, to the academic and research operations as well as legal support pertaining to undergraduate and graduate education.

  • Andy Thompson, senior associate dean and director of student life.
  • Clara Kientz, assistant director of the Center for Advocacy, Response and Education.
