October is enrollment period for voluntary life insurance plans

Submitted by Human Capital Services

Open enrollment for voluntary life insurance is from Oct. 1-31, with an effective coverage start date of Jan. 1, 2021. These optional plans do not require re-enrollment each year.

The Kansas Public Employees Retirement System, or KPERS, through The Standard, life insurance provider, offers optional life insurance, additional coverage beyond the basic term life insurance that K-State provides to all benefit-eligible employees.

You are able to decide how much coverage you need and will pay premiums through payroll deduction. Learn more in the optional life insurance open enrollment on-demand webinar or visit the KPERS open enrollment webpage. This benefit is available to all benefit-eligible positions, both in KPERS and the Kansas Board of Regents retirement system.

Your HCS benefits team will continue to update you and provide information during the month of October. Watch your K-State email and K-State Today with more information.
