Search committee guidance

Submitted by Human Capital Services

As the university moved into Reopening Phase 3 and then welcomed students back to campus, we have received inquiries about search committees and whether in-person search committee interviews are now possible.

In Phase 3 the university issued, among others, the following pieces of guidance:

  • Employees are encouraged to work remotely as much as possible.
  • Events and gatherings, including meetings, should be conducted virtually, if possible.

In keeping with the above guidance and our guiding principle of preserving the health and safety of K-State's university community and our host communities, search committee interviews should still take place virtually. Some narrow exceptions to this have been granted for custodial services and the K-State Police Department. Questions about interviews and strategies for conducting them virtually may be directed to Talent Acquisition
