A summary of university changes related to COVID-19

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the university has had to make several changes to operations. The following is a summary of the changes announced June 15-19.
Furloughed K-State employees can apply for financial help through the KSU Foundation.
Employees experiencing financial hardships because of COVID-19 furloughs may apply for grant funds — up to $700 — online at ksufoundation.org/emergencyfund/ or in the KSU Foundation's lobby, 1800 Kimball Ave. Read more.
Dates have been set for graduation ceremonies.
In a June 16 letter, Provost Taber announced additional information about the adjusted fall 2020 academic calendar and the new dates for the combined commencement ceremonies — Nov. 20 for the Polytechnic campus and Nov. 23 and 24 for the Manhattan campus.
Additional emergency furloughs include eight employees from Information Technology Services.
Kansas State University will implement additional emergency furloughs for eight employees in Information Technology Services beginning June 28. This brings the total furloughed employees up to 430 and saves nearly $2.75 million. Affected employees are encouraged to apply for grant funds through the KSU Foundation to help with expenses.
Education Abroad cancels fall 2020 programs.
As national travel advisories and warnings remain heightened, Education Abroad has canceled all semesterlong education abroad programs.
