Counseling Services offers new group: Coping through Connection

Submitted by Cristine Glendening

Counseling Services is offering a new group: Coping through Connection. The group will meet from 1-2:30 p.m. Tuesdays virtually, through Zoom.

The aim of the group is to provide students with a safe place to connect with other students to both provide and receive social and emotional support; learn about helpful strategies and resources to deal with the impact of the pandemic; and explore and process the myriad emotions and thoughts associated with its impact. It will be a semi-structured group with both an educational/skills component and a process-oriented/supportive component.

This group is free for students who meet the following criteria:

  1. Due to licensure restrictions by state, with a few exceptions, group members will need to be located in Kansas when participating in the group. Please make staff aware of where you will be physically located when setting up your appointment.
  2. Was/is enrolled in both the spring 2020 and fall 2020 semesters.
