Online therapy group for students wanting to build skills to manage emotions and distress

Kansas State University Counseling Services will offer an online therapy group titled Calming the Storm for students wanting to build skills to more effectively manage emotions and distress.

Calming the Storm will help students build skills for acceptance and change, to decrease suffering and help interact with the world more effectively. Skills taught will include mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness.

This group is free for students who meet the following criteria:

  1. Due to licensure restrictions by state, with a few exceptions, group members will need to be located in Kansas when participating in the group. Please make staff aware of where you will be physically located when setting up your appointment.
  2. Was/is enrolled in both the spring 2020 and fall 2020 semesters.
