College of Education major selected as KNEA-AE president
The Kansas National Education Association-Aspiring Educators, or KNEA-AE, hosted its Spring Representative Assembly meeting virtually recently and announced new leaders and scholarship winners. K-State was well represented.
Aundrea Bruna, elementary education major, Washington, is the state level president-elect for 2020-2021 and will assume presidential duties in 2021-2022.
"As the future state president of KNEA, I can't wait to see the accomplishments that not only I, but the rest of the future team can accomplish together," Bruna said. "I know that we, with a little help from others, can help KNEA thrive this upcoming year."
Rylee Schrock, elementary education, was awarded the George Frey Scholarship for $200, and Tori Mitchell, secondary education–social studies, received the Bruce and Diana Goeden Scholarship for $1,000.
KNEA Aspiring Educators is a professional association for college students preparing to enter the education profession. K-State's chapter is advised by assistant professors of curriculum and instruction Suzanne Porath and Lori Goodson.
