Student employees policy announced

Submitted by Communications and Marketing

In response to the economic uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Kansas State University student employees will be paid through the end of the current semester. This action provides financial stability to help student workers complete their studies for spring 2020.

Due to an unknown financial future, all student employment appointments will end on May 16. The final paycheck for student employees will arrive on May 29. Hiring or re-hiring of student employees for work following May 16 will be conducted per the policies and procedures of the current hiring freeze. All student hires will require approval from the respective vice president or provost.

Graduate teaching assistants, graduate research assistants, and graduate assistants do not fall under this policy; their status will be determined by the guidelines issued for mission critical activities.
