K-State band concert March 4

Submitted by Alex Wimmer

The K-State Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony will present concerts in McCain Auditorium on Wednesday, March 4. This concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. and is free to the public.

Starting the concert will be the Derby High School Wind Ensemble. The ensemble's performance will include works by Grainger, Milburn, Thomas and Sousa. The group will spend the afternoon rehearsing and be led by Frank Tracz and the band staff. The ensemble is under the director of Adam DeVault and Rachel Villareale, a K-State alumna, '16. The Band Program is excited to have high schools like Derby on campus performing as part of the Side-by-Side Concert Series.

The Wind Symphony will perform works by Grainger, Schuman, Mackey and Giroux. The ensemble is under the direction of Alex Wimmer, assistant director of bands.

The Wind Ensemble will perform works by Reeves, Grainger and Maslanka. Percy Grainger's iconic "Lincolnshire Posy" will be performed in its entirety. The Wind Ensemble is under the direction of Tracz, director of bands.
