Travel awards available for 2020 SciComm Conference

Submitted by Megan Miller

The K-State Graduate School will award 12 student travel grants of up to $250 to attend the 2020 SciComm Conference at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, March 27-29. Preference will be given to graduate students.

The travel awards are made possible by funds from the NASA Kansas Space Grant, which stipulates that students must be enrolled in a degree-seeking program in a STEM discipline. Students must also be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

Students who submit abstracts to the conference to present a talk, participate in the film festival, or host a table-top outreach activity will be given preference for funding. Awardees will need to show proof of their attendance at the conference and submit a brief summary of what they learned to receive the award after they return.

Apply online. The travel award application deadline is 5 p.m. March 16.
