KAWSE and the Division of Biology to host Denise Monack as ADVANCE Distinguished Lecturer

The Office for the Advancement of Women in Science and Engineering and the Division of Biology will host Denise Monack, professor in the department of microbiology and immunology at Stanford University, as an ADVANCE Distinguished Lecturer. 

Monack will present "Salmonella-microbiome Interactions in the Gut and their Impact on Transmission," at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, in 221 Ackert Hall. 

Monack's lab works on defining mechanisms of intracellular bacterial pathogenesis with an emphasis on chronic infection. She is a Burroughs Wellcome Fund scholar in infectious diseases and a fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology.
