Attend TransKansas Conference in Manhattan

Submitted by Sam Sharpe

The K-State Gender Collective, a registered departmental student organization, is helping to organize TransKansas, an annual grassroots conference and community gathering hosted by the Kansas Statewide Transgender Education Project. TransKansas 2019 takes place Sept. 20-21 at the First Congregational UCC, 700 Poyntz Ave. in Manhattan.

Some of the student organization's members also are presenting and volunteering at the conference.

Registration opens at 9:15 a.m. on both days and programming will run from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The conference provides education, resources and community to trans, nonbinary, genderqueer and questioning folks, along with their families, friends and allies. All TransKansas events are free, although donations are encouraged. A small lunch and snacks will be provided both days; we encourage participants and attendees to bring a dish to share.
