Jerry Jay Cranford wins Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards for best director of a musical

Theatre professor Jerry Jay Cranford has won the Best Director (Musical) for "Newsies" from the Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards, which celebrates excellence in music, performing arts and visual arts each year.

Nominations are voted on by patrons and readers of Omaha Magazine.

This is the second best director award for Cranford, who won the 2018 BroadwayWorld Kansas City Award for Best Director of a Musical (Professional) for his work on "Newsies" in January.
