APDesign students win in photo competition

Students in Kansas State University's College of Architecture, Planning & Design have been recognized for their skills as photographers through the college's annual photography competition.

The competition was open to all students in the College of Architecture, Planning & Design and four entries were selected to receive recognition. Thomas A. Tyler, a 1974 K-State architecture graduate, and his firm, Answers Inc., St. Louis, Missouri, sponsored the competition's prizes. Best in show award earned $500 and first place $200.

Competition winners:

Nicholas Horvath, fifth-year architecture student, Hoffman Estates, Illinois, first place in the exterior architecture category for "Synergy."

Julian Lee, fifth-year interior architecture and product design student, Louisville, Kentucky, first place in the category of interiors and architectural details and the award for best in show.

Alison Trent, postbaccalaureate graduate student in interior architecture and product design, Kansas City, Missouri, first place in the landscape category for "Threshold."

Alejandro Dowling, fourth-year architecture student, Liberty, Missouri, first place in the black and white category for "42.07."
