Beckley receives Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification
Human Capital Services congratulates Becky Beckley, human capital specialist II-central, for recently earning her Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification.
The certification teaches individuals how Lean Six Sigma may be used to improve customer satisfaction, reduce errors, increase efficiencies and work more effectively to solve problems. Participants learn the history and background of Lean Six Sigma; participate in Lean Six Sigma projects; master several key Lean Six Sigma tools; understand the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control, or DMAIC, problem methodology; establish process improvements; and understand the importance of "soft skills" in a Lean Six Sigma project.
Beckley has a demonstrated commitment to customer service and data integrity in her role as HCS liaison to many campus departments. She had a key role in transitioning the university from paper to electronic onboarding within PageUp and the Human Resource Information System, or HRIS. Known for her knowledge of university policies and regulations, she is responsible for processing employee personnel transactions to ensure compliance and data accuracy. Beckley has been involved in many initiatives aimed at process improvement. Additionally, she administers the university summer school program in HRIS for nine-month faculty, oversees the university United Way deductions, and initiates the Statements of Substantial Interests process for university employees.
Beckley has more than 36 years of experience with K-State. She has held roles in the areas of employment and compensation/classification, in addition to her current role in the HCS Resource Center and Operations. She was selected as Human Capital Services' Classified Employee of the Year in 2002. Beckley is a current member of the Kansas Chapter of College and University Professional Association for Human Resources.
