Campus 911 calls now routed through RCPD dispatch center

Submitted by K-State Police Department

A recent change by Riley County emergency services will affect how 911 calls from campus are handled. Previously, calls from landlines went to the K-State Police dispatch and cellphone calls went to the Riley County Police Department dispatch center, but effective immediately, all 911 calls will go to Riley County Police Department's dispatch center.

RCPD will reroute the call to the K-State Police Department when it involves a campus incident.

K-Staters can contact the K-State Police Department directly at 785-532-6412, through the LiveSafe app or the blue emergency phones on campus.

To call 911 from campus landlines, just dial 9-1-1. It does not require the additional 9 before the number to dial off campus.

If you have questions, contact the K-State Police Department, Riley County Emergency Management at 785-537-6333, or Riley County Police Department at 785-537-2112.
