The K-State Graduate School and the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs invite applications from K-State graduate and undergraduate students for $350 travel awards to attend the 2018 SciComm Conference March 23-25 at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The application deadline is 5 p.m. Feb. 21. Award recipients will need to complete conference registration and make their own hotel arrangements the following week.

The travel awards are made possible by funds from the NASA Kansas Space Grant, which stipulates that students must be enrolled in a degree-seeking program in a STEM — science, technology, engineering, and math — discipline. Students must also be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

Students who submit abstracts to the conference to present a poster or other session will be given preference for funding. Awardees will need to show proof of their attendance at the conference and submit a brief summary of what they learned to receive the award after they return.

Apply here. Contact Megan Miller with questions at mmmiller@k-state.edu
