Difficult conversations and critical incident response presentations scheduled for June 20

Submitted by Gina Lowe

Kathryn Tolle, psychologist, and Anne Weese, counselor/psychology intern, at K-State counseling services will present "The Challenge of Criticism: Approaching and Overcoming Difficult Conversations"  (Course WTD151) from 1:30–3:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, in Room 212 of the K-State Student Union.

Many of us equate confrontation with conflict. Though this may not always be true, it can make us avoid it altogether. Join us in an interactive presentation to increase your confidence and skill in effective communication about difficult workplace situations. This two-hour session will include information, discussions, role plays and other interactive activities.

Heather Reed, associate dean and director of the office of student life, will then present "Critical Incident Response" (Course WTD152) from 3:45–4:45 p.m. This session will focus on threat management and workplace violence.

These presentations are for supervisors and managers and are in conjunction with Introduction to Supervision training. These sessions will be offered again Oct. 30. There is no charge to participants, but registration is necessary to ensure adequate seating and materials.

You may register:

1)  Through HRIS Self Enrollment, or

2)  Email to training@k-state.edu. Please include your name, employee ID number, course title and session number
