Summer maintenance projects at Hale Library

Submitted by Donna Ekart

During the lower-traffic summer semester, K-State Libraries will undertake several maintenance projects. The majority of the activity will be concentrated on Hale's fourth floor beginning Monday, May 14.

The fourth floor will have carpet replaced and building expansion joints repaired. Work will begin with the shifting of furniture, printers and technology equipment. Additionally, the Media Collection will be relocated to empty shelving at the east end of fourth floor. On May 21 expansion joint work will begin, which will involve some noise and disruption. On May 23 carpeting removal and installation begins. While this work is going on, some collections may be temporarily inaccessible, and the entire floor will be unsuitable for research and study.

Please contact Library Help on Hale's second floor for assistance locating or accessing materials affected by these projects. The work is anticipated to last through the end of June, and represents the last phase of building maintenance projects that began in summer 2011.
