Last call: Enter the LiveSafe contest, second weekly winner announced

Submitted by Stephanie Jacques

K-State Police Jason Blackburn, Randy Myles and Andrew Koharchik present Alejandro Martinez with gift cards as the second weekly winner of the LiveSafe contest.

Alejandro Martinez, sophomore in microbiology and pre-medicine, is the second weekly winner of the LiveSafe contest. As a weekly winner, Martinez received gift cards to Einstein Bros. Bagels in Hale Library and the K-State Student Union and is still eligible to win the iPad.

Oct. 28 is the last day to enter to win the LiveSafe iPad contest in partnership with the K-State Police Department.

To enter, K-Staters must download the app and connect to Kansas State University using their official K-State email. Go to the Report Tips icon in the top left corner of the screen and click on the Giveaway icon that looks like a sealed box in the middle of the bottom row.

 LiveSafe how to

Like a scavenger hunt, K-Staters are encouraged to test out the system by taking a selfie with a campus police officer or in front of one of the many blue light emergency phones on campus — check out the app's Safety Map or university's Manhattan and Polytechnic campus maps. To complete the entry, include contact information in the text box and make sure that the entry is not sent anonymously for the purpose of the contest.

In addition to connecting with campus safety officials, LiveSafe has many safety features including access to safety maps, emergency contacts, and peer-to-peer location tracking with group chat so friends can monitor and talk to each other as they travel the campus.

Also learn about other safety resources such as K-State Alerts, to stay notified by the university of emergency situations or campus closures.
