New live chat available for help managing student loans

K-Staters may now live chat with a Salt student loan expert at k-state.edu/salt to get a quick answer to questions about managing your student loans. The program is offered through Powercat Financial

Salt student loan experts are standing by via live chat to assist you with the following:

  • Debt management and student loan repayment.
  • Assisting with locating and tracking student loan debt.
  • Comparing repayment plans and options.
  • Postponing student loan payments.
  • Understanding student loan forgiveness programs.
  • Resolving delinquency.
  • Balancing federal and private student loan debt.

Simply click on the live chat icon and you will be entered into a chat session. During offline hours you may submit a ticket and a response will be provided within one business day. If you have specific questions regarding your financial aid or student account, you should contact either K-State's student financial assistance office at 785-532-6420 or the cashier's office directly at 785-532-6317.

Saltmoney.org is an online program dedicated to simplifying everything from budgeting to FAFSA applications to student loan repayment options, with articles and tools that are easy to use and understand. K-State has partnered with Salt to sponsor a membership for all students and alumni. Sign up for your free membership at k-state.edu/salt.

Powercat Financial is also available on the third floor of the K-State Student Union and can help students with free in-person financial planning sessions on everything from budgeting, to managing credit and student loans, to transitioning into work. A student may request a free appointment with Powercat Financial at ksu.edu/powercatfinancial.
