Lisa Rubin

Lisa Rubin, assistant professor in the College of Education, was recently recognized as one of 25 outstanding women leaders in higher education by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.

Rubin's research interests are in the areas of college student-athlete development and women in intercollegiate administration. She is highlighted along with the others in the March issue of Diverse: Issues in Higher Education. The award was created in honor of Women's History Month and celebrates women who have made a difference in higher education.

Rubin is humbled by the recognition and hopes to inspire future generations of educators.

"To be in the company of such phenomenal women leaders in higher education is one of my greatest honors," she said. "I am excited to represent the incredible work my colleagues do every day in Kansas State's College of Education as well as work with my inspiring students, who are future leaders in higher education."

Ken Hughey, professor and chair of the department of special education, counseling and student affairs, offers his congratulations.

"Dr. Rubin is a highly talented faculty member who is to be commended for her professional contributions that led to being recognized by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education as an outstanding leader in higher education and beyond," Hughey said. "We are fortunate to have her as a colleague in our department and college."
