The K-State 48 Film Festival kicks off the 2017 competition year with workshops designed to help all current K-State students looking to brush up on their video production skills or learn the basic techniques of filmmaking, in preparation for the second festival.

Rusty Earl will present the first workshop, Lighting for Film, at 5 p.m. Nov. 4 at the Catalyst Center in 16 Bluemont Hall. Participants can bring their own camera to test out three different lighting scenarios in this hands-on workshop.

Members of the film festival committee also will be available to answer your questions and to reveal the dates for the 2017 film competition.

The K-State 48 Hour Film Festival offers K-State students the opportunity to showcase their work and creativity through the creation of a short film — in only 48 hours. Visit k-state.edu/48filmfest for more information and to see the 2016 competition's submissions.
