StrengthsQuest peer coaching now available for students

Submitted by Erin Poppe

Lately, we at K-State StrengthsQuest have heard that many students are missing the "what's next" piece to the StrengthsFinder assessment. Sure, it's great that they know their top five strengths — but what do they even mean? How can strengths be applied in the classroom, in the workplace, in life?

Our newly debuted strengths coaching program seeks to help answer those questions.

Strengths coaching is perfect for students who want to learn how to best leverage their strengths. Our coaches are trained to help students set both short- and long-term goals with their strengths in relation to their academic, career or personal development.

"I thoroughly enjoyed my StrenghtsQuest peer coaching experience," said Alex Parr, freshman in communication studies and psychology. "My coach was amazing, knowledgeable and accommodating. I learned a lot about my strengths and myself, as well as how to leverage my strengths to help me in the future. My peer coaching session has gotten me very excited about my strengths and the StrengthsQuest program, and I highly encourage all students to make this minor time investment and reap the major benefits of self-investment."

We encourage all faculty and staff to inform their students of this newly available resource so that K-State may continue to grow as a strengths-based campus.

Students can sign up for a free coaching session online.
